There are a lot more people playing GTA Online this time around compared to the last DLC drop.

1.3 Million GTA Online players have completed first 'Project Overthrow' mission, Reporting for Duty

GTA Online has undergone another big change for players. The most recent DLC update is called the San Andreas Mercenaries and it added a lot of new content for players to check out. New weapons, new cars, and new missions for players to participate in as well. Whenever there is a new DLC drop for GTA Online, a lot of players get excited about the new content.

During DLC drops, GTA Online gets a new surge of players coming online to see what is new. This comes in the form of returning players and new players who are playing GTA Online for the first time. It looks like the excitement is even higher this time. More players are checking out San Andreas Mercenaries compared to the previous DLC, Los Santos Drug Wars.

There are also some specialty stat sites that will give players information about what exactly people are doing within a game.

Reliable data miner @TezFunz2 has given us some data on what is happening with GTA Online right now. According to the stats, 1.3 million people have played the first Project Overthrow mission in the first 3 days. For Los Santos Drug Wars, it took 10 days to reach 1.5 million. So from what it looks like, more people are excited to play San Andreas Mercenaries compared to Los Santos Drug Wars. We will see if the trend continues as more people join in.
