The Huntress Power And Perks

Before we delve into the best builds for Huntress, let's look at this killer's power and teachable perks so you know what you're working with.

First, here are the Huntress' three teachable perks:

Beast of Prey

  • Grants the Undetectable status effect after gaining Bloodlust Tier I. The status effect is removed once you lose Bloodlust. Gain up to 50% more Bloodpoints for actions in the Hunter category.

Territorial Imperative

  • Survivors’ auras are revealed to you for 3 seconds when they enter the basement, and you are more than 32 meters away from the basement entrance.
  • Territorial Imperative can only be triggered once every up to 30 seconds.

Hex: Huntress Lullaby

  • Survivors receive up to a 6% regression penalty when missing a Skill Check while healing or repairing. Each time a Survivor is hooked, Huntress Lullaby grows in power. It affects healing and repairing Skill Check warnings.
    • 1 to 4 tokens: The time between the Skill Check warning sound and the Skill Check becomes shorter.
    • 5 tokens: No Skill Check warning
  • This hex effect persists as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.

The Huntress' power is called 'Hunting Hatchets.' The in-game description reads as follows:

“Begin the trial with 5 Hunting Hatchets, which can be wound up and thrown with deadly precision. Hatchets can be refilled at lockers.”

Best Huntress Builds In Dead By Daylight

A variety of builds can be highly effective on The Huntress depending on your killer playstyle. (Picture: Behaviour Interactive)

The top Huntress loadout for you in the game depends on your specific playstyle, skill level, and comfort level playing The Huntress specifically.

As such, we'll give you several options so you can put together a build that works for you and the way you play.

Beginner Huntress Build

If you are just getting started as a new Huntress main, it might be hard to decide what aspects of gameplay you want your build to focus on. If you're torn between the rest of our builds, it might be worth giving the beginner Huntress build a go.

  • Bitter Murmur
  • Jolt
  • Hex: Huntress Lullaby (The Huntress)
  • Shattered Hope

All of the perks included in this build are generic, meaning they either come by default with The Huntress or can be found in the Bloodweb of all killers without prestiging or reaching level 50.

This build offers aura visibility on the survivors at critical times with Bitter Murmur, ensuring you can land those valuable hits. Jolt will regress generators, while Hex: Huntress Lullaby will encourage survivors to miss skill checks, alerting you to their location and regressing the generator they are working on, too. Finally, Shattered Hope will rob survivors of a critical resource: boons.

CoconutRTS Huntress Build

If our beginner Huntress build doesn't catch your eye, might we suggest another loadout designed by the top Huntress player in the world, CoconutRTS.

  • A Nurse's Calling (The Nurse)
  • I'm All Ears (The Ghost Face)
  • BBQ & Chili (The Cannibal)
  • Corrupt Intervention (The Plague)

This build is a great well-rounded one, with lots of tracking perks and some regression with Corrupt Intervention. With A Nurse's Calling, I'm All Ears, and BBQ & Chili, you'll get to see useful auras throughout the match.

If you play well enough, Corrupt Intervention, which blocks three generators at the start of the match, should give you enough time to secure a win (or at least a "killer" headstart).

Generator Regression Huntress Build

The Huntress' hatchets might be highly mobile, allowing her to snipe survivors from across the map, but she lacks movement speed. This killer moves slower than most, making it hard for her to efficiently damage and regress generators without the help of perks.

  • Eruption (The Nemesis)
  • Hex: Ruin (The Hag)
  • Overcharge (The Doctor)
  • Surveillance (The Pig)

This generator regression Huntress build utilizes perks that address this killer's weakest spots, allowing her to kick and damage generators much more efficiently. Hex: Ruin will automatically regress generators until survivors cleanse it, and if they do, all of your other perks are there to back you up so you can keep up the pressure on generators.

Tracking Huntress Build

As The Huntress, you will need to reload relatively frequently using lockers around the map. You can make the most of every reload by equipping perks that allow you to track survivors by opening lockers.

  • Iron Maiden (The Legion)
  • Darkness Revealed (The Dredge)
  • Lethal Pursuer (The Nemesis)
  • Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage (The Onryo)

Iron Maiden allows you to open lockers more quickly, equipping you with the ability to reload efficiently, even during a chase. Darkness Revealed will show any survivors hanging out near lockers on the map. Lethal Pursuer not only shows survivors' auras at the beginning of the match but also provides two extra seconds to the aura-reading provided by Darkness Revealed and Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage.

What Are The Best Perks For The Huntress?

We've given you some builds to test out on Huntress, but you might be wondering which individual perks are best for her.

A few of the best perks on Huntress are:

  • I'm All Ears (The Ghost Face)
  • Hex: Ruin (The Hag)
  • Corrupt Intervention (The Plague)
  • Jolt
  • Darkness Revealed (The Dredge)
  • Lethal Pursuer (The Nemesis)

We recommend mixing and matching the perks in the builds we've provided to create your favorite loadout. As you familiarize yourself with this killer, you'll determine which perks are your favorites and be able to mix and match these perks effectively.
