Does Palia Beta Progress Carry Over? Answered

Players have been eagerly anticipating the start of the PC Public Beta testing period as Singularity 6 will make Palia available beginning with the Closed Beta. After two years in development, players can set off to explore the open world environments, build their dream home and engage in activities with friends.

Those starting their Palian adventures in the Closed and Open Beta might wonder if their gameplay progress will carry over to its eventual full release. This detailed guide will answer whether gameplay progress carries over for Palia’s PC Beta and other related topics like server wipes, crossplay, and cross-progression.

1st August 2023 Update: Palia's PC Public Beta period begins with the Closed Bets starting 2 August 2023 at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 5 pm UTC. The original reporting continues below.

Can You Carry Over Your PC Beta Progress For Palia?

Before we answer this question, it’s important to remind players that if they wish to participate in the PC Public Beta testing for Palia, they must either have an existing account or create one via the official Palia account site. Once created, they will be notified via email, if turned on under Account Management, that they have been invited to join the Closed or Open Beta with instructions enclosed.

The Closed Beta begins on 2nd August 2023, and the Open Beta takes place one week later on 10th August 2023 at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 5 pm UTC. As for whether players can carry over their game progress from the Beta, we have the answer to this all-important question.

Yes, players can carry over their gameplay progression, stipulated in the official PC Public Beta announcement on the game’s website. “There will be no more wipes as of Closed Beta! Beta marks the true beginning of your cozy life in Palia. Prior to Beta, account progression was wiped for each playtest.”

Now, your progress will continue from Closed Beta, Open Beta, and beyond. While the game itself is in a beta state, we want our players to know they can commit the time to play and get invested in living your fantasy in Palia, according to Singularity 6.

This is mainly due to the developer implementing server wipes during the Alpha tests, which no longer will occur starting with the Closed Beta. Likewise, the developer wants to encourage players to spend as much time possible in-game as they feel continuing with server wipes may hamper that experience.

Additionally, allowing players to keep and carry over the gameplay progress lets them “invest” in their “Palian life for many moons to come.” This also means that when the game launches on PC and Nintendo Switch, they can play it on their preferred platform with cross-platform play (crossplay) and cross-progression enabled, allowing them to bring over their character and progress to either PC or Switch.
