Genshin Impact boasts a diverse and colorful roster of playable characters, further assisting the Traveler in their journey across Teyvat. With over 60 playable characters and more to come through continuous updates, many of these characters can be acquired from the Character Event Wish banners using Intertwined Fates.
As Travelers can look forward to plenty of content updates launching this year, they can anticipate new playable characters and a few banner reruns in 2023. Below we've detailed upcoming banners in 2023, including their dates and featured characters, new and returning, in Genshin Impact.

All Character Event Wish Banners For Genshin Impact
2023 has been an interesting year thus far, with several new playable characters arriving in Teyvat to correspond with the launch of new events and areas. Additionally, the year was marked by the highly anticipated launch of Scaramouche/The Wanderer in the 3.3 update, plus more Dendro characters joining the roster, including Nahida, Alhaitham, Kaveh, Baizhu, and Yaoyao.
With plenty of characters awaiting their turn in-game and more lore to explore in the final game updates launching in the following months. As we look to the future of Genshin Impact, let's look at the upcoming Character Event Wish banners and those that occurred last year with their featured characters, new and returning, appearing in their respective banners:
Genshin Impact 3.8 Update Character Event Wish Banners
- Phase I: Eula "Born of Ocean Swell" and Klee "Sparkling Steps" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: 4th to 25th July 2023
- Phase II: Sangonomiya Kokomi "Drifting Luminescence" and The Wanderer "From Ashes Reborn" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: 25th July to 15th August 2023
With no new characters debuting in the 3.8 update, four 5-star characters will be making banner reruns for this update in Genshin Impact. Last appearing on the Character Event Wish banners for the 2.8 update, Eula makes her long-awaited return joined by Klee in the first phase while Sangonomiya Kokomi and The Wanderer headline the second phase of Character Event Wish banners.
Genshin Impact 3.7 Update Character Event Wish Banners
- Phase I: Yae Miko "Everbloom Violet, and Yomiya "Tapestry of Golden Flames" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: 24th May 2023 to 13th June 2023
- Phase II: Alhaitham "Caution in Confidence" and Kazuha "Leaves in the Wind" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: 13th June to 4th July 2023
As Kirara is to gain a drop rate boost on the first phase banners, it's been confirmed that Yae Miko, Yomiya, Alhaitham, and Kazuha are receiving banner reruns in the 3.7 update. Yae Miko and Yomiya are appearing in Phase I of the Character Event Wish banners, while Alhaitham and Kazuha are to feature in the second phase.
Genshin Impact 3.6 Update Character Event Wish Banners
- Phase I: Nahida "The Moongrass' Enlightenment" and Nilou "Twirling Lotus" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: Immediately following the 3.6 update launch on 12th April 2023
- Phase II: Alhaitham "Caution in Confidence" and Ganyu "Adrift in the Harbor" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: 2nd to 23rd May 2023
Three characters, Nahida, Nilou, and Ganyu will be making banner re-runs in the 3.6 update with Nahida and Nilou appearing in Phase I of the Character Event Wish banners. The game's latest character, Baizhu will be making his in-game debut in Phase II of the Character Event Wishes banners, with another new character, the 4-star Kaveh, receiving a drop-rate boost.
Genshin Impact 3.5 Update Character Event Wish Banners
- Phase I: Dehya "Auric Blaze" and Cyno "Twilight Arbiter" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: 1st to 21st March 2023
- Phase II: Kamisato Ayaka "The Heron's Court" and Shenhe "The Transcendent One Returns" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: 21st March 2023 to 11th April 2023
It's confirmed that the 3.5 update will see Dehya being the latest 5-star character to join the roster, and another 5-star character, Cyno, will gain a rerun in the first phase. The second phase will also see more banner reruns, and it will be of Kamisato Ayaka and Shenhe, with Mika gaining a drop rate boost.
Genshin Impact 3.4 Update Character Event Wish Banners
- Phase I: Alhaitham "Caution in Confidence" and Xiao "Invitation to Mundane Life" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: Immediately after the 3.4 update releases on 18th January 2023 until 7th February 2023
- Phase II: Hu Tao "Moment of Bloom" and Yelan "Discerner of Enigmas" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: 7th to 28th February 2023
While the confirmation of Alhaitham and Yaoyao, the latter was announced as a playable character at The Game Awards 2022, with Hu Tao and Yelan receiving banner reruns in the 3.4 update. With that being said, Yaoyao, a 4-star character, is gaining a drop-rate boost during Phase I of the Character Event Wish banners.
Genshin Impact 3.3 Update Character Event Wish Banners
- Phase I: Scaramouche/The Wanderer "From Ashes Reborn" and Arataki Itto "Oni's Royale" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: Immediately after the 3.3 update releases on 7th December 2022 until 27th December 2022
- Phase II: Raiden Shogun "Reign of Serenity" and Kamisato Ayato's "Azure Excursion" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: 27th December 2022 to 17th January 2023
The 4-star Anemo character, Faruzan, will gain a drop-rate boost during Phase I of the Character Event Wish banners for Scaramouche/The Wanderer and Arataki Itto. Likely, she will eventually be made available through the Wanderlust Invocation Standard Wish banner from the 3.4 update onwards.
Genshin Impact 3.2 Update Character Event Wish Banners
- Phase I: Nahida "The Moongrass' Enlightenment" and Yomiya "Tapestry of Golden Flames" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: Immediately after the 3.2 update releases on 2nd November until 18th November 2022
- Phase II: Yae Miko "Everbloom Violet, and Tartaglia "Farewell of Snezhnya" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: 18th November 2022 to 6th December 2022
The Dendro Archon, the Lesser Lord Kusanali, Nahida, received her first banner run in the first phase of the Character Event Wishes for the 3.2 update. Yomiya, Yae Miko, and Tartaglia all gained banner re-runs, with new 4-star character, Layla, receiving a drop rate boost on Yae Miko and Tartaglia's banners.
Genshin Impact 3.1 Update Character Event Wish Banners
- Phase I: Venti "Ballad in Goblets" and Cyno "Twilight Arbiter" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: 28th September 2022 to 14th October 2022
- Phase II: Nilou "Twirling Lotus" and Albedo "Secretum Secretorum" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: 14th October 2022 to 1st November 2022
The 4-star Hydro character, Candace, gained a drop-rate boost during Phase I of the Character Event Wish banners for Venti and Cyno. She will become available through the Wanderlust Invocation Standard Wish banner from the 3.2 update onwards.
Genshin Impact 3.0 Update Character Event Wish Banners
- Phase I: Tighnari "Viridescent Vigil" and Zhongli "Gentry of Hermitage" Event Wishes
- Banner Date: 24th August 2022 to 9th September 2022
- Phase II: Sangonomiya Kokomi "Drifting Luminescence" Event Wish
- Banner Date: 9th to 27th September 2022
Dori, one of the 3.0 update's newest playable characters, was featured in both phases of the Character Event Wish banners. She received a drop-rate boost for appearing on Tighnari, Zhongli, and Kokomi's banners, and Collei is available via the Wanderlust Invocation Standard Wish banner from the 3.1 update.
