The Community Day are monthly in-game events to celebrate the game's dedicated community by highlighting a popular Pokémon. This featured Pokémon will spawn more frequently for the event duration, allowing Trainers to meet up with others in local environments worldwide.
With the Season of Hidden Gems having begun, another featured Pokémon will be given the spotlight, as Trainers can also take advantage of various event bonuses available for the event. With the Pokémon GO's Season of Hidden Gems starting on 1st June 2023 at 10 am local time, Niantic has confirmed the next Community Day Classic event. Trainers "save the date" for the upcoming Community Day event with plenty of activities to complete, like Raids, Research tasks, and rewards to earn this season.
Developer Niantic has announced that the next Community Day event is taking place on 13th August 2023 for three hours between 2 pm and 5 pm local time. This Community Day event will likely feature Field Research tasks, increased spawns and Shinies of the featured Pokémon, and a Special Research story when confirmed.
Pokémon GO Community Day (August 2023) – Featured Pokémon
Niantic has confirmed that the Water-type Pokémon, Froakie, will be the featured Pokémon for the upcoming Community Day. Froakie and its evolution line will appear more frequently in the wild throughout this event, whereby a Shiny form (*) may also spawn in the wild.
Nevertheless, this Pokémon will appear more often in wild encounters and likely as a reward for completing the Field and Special Research tasks. As expected, there will be several event bonuses, including reduced Egg hatch distance, Lure Modules, GO Snapshot surprises, and Incense.
Lastly, Trainers may gain the opportunity to evolve Frogadier to Greninja during and five hours after the event for it to learn its Charged Attack, Hydro Cannon. Additionally, Greninja will also know the Fast Attack, Water Shuriken during and after this event.
Pokémon GO Community Day (August 2023) – Field & Special Research Tasks
As there will likely be Field Research tasks available for Trainers to complete, for which you can receive various rewards, Trainers can also obtain their ticketed Community Day Special Research story available for the event's duration. By purchasing the ticket in-game for $1,00 or the equivalent of your local currency, they can access the featured Pokémon's Special Research story.
This ticket can be acquired from the in-game Shop, and you can also gift your friends with this ticket by tapping the "Gift" button. Trainers can also gift this Special Research story ticket to friends with a Great Friends Friendship level and higher through the in-game Shop by hitting the "Gift" button.
