With all the new game modes that have already made their way to Overwatch 2 and are coming in the future, the Junkenstein event is coming back this year. Junkenstein's Revenge is Overwatch's yearly Halloween event.

Players will want to build up their Overwatch Coins this year because it seems like Blizzard is planning for a big Halloween event. Here, we detail what to expect for this year's Halloween event in Overwatch 2.

Since 2016, Blizzard has been putting on a Halloween event for Overwatch every year. It is known as the Halloween Terror Event, bringing Halloween-themed cosmetics for the game. This year, Blizzard has confirmed the Halloween event is happening from October 25th until November 8th 2022.

This year, the event is named Junkenstein's Revenge: The Wrath of the Bride. The bride in question is Sombra, who looks like the bride with green skin and a tall matted hairdo.

Typically, the Halloween events in Overwatch 2 put you in a PvE game mode where you fight hordes of Halloween-themed monsters. The game puts you in a group of four to take on the hordes of monsters. They are the heroes of the story.

However, things will be different this year. Mike Ybarra, the President of Blizzard, said on Twitter that the Overwatch 2 Halloween event will be a brand new game mode. More details on that will be released soon, so be sure to check back on this later.

The four heroes you will be playing for the Overwatch 2 Halloween event in 2022 are Ashe, Kiriko, Junker Queen, and Sojourn. Three of the heroes are the newest additions to Overwatch 2. All of them will get a Halloween-themed skin for this year.

On top of them getting skins, there will likely be new Halloween-themed emotes, sprays, and more for many other Heroes in the game.

Since this is the first year that the Overwatch Halloween event is happening for Overwatch 2, it is unclear how you will be able to obtain a Halloween-themed skin as they were typically locked behind a seasonal loot box. There might be a Halloween bundle available when the event starts.
