Rare has announced that Sea of Thieves Season 10 will start on 19 October 2023. According to a blog post, the team said: "It’s not a decision we’ve taken lightly, and we share your disappointment that it’s something we’ve needed to do. However, after careful consideration, we firmly believe that it’s the best thing to do for the quality of the release, the sustainability of our development process, and the well-being of our team."

The series will feature three thrilling Tall Tales, one set around the legendary Governor Guybrush. The remaining two Tall Tales will set sail sometime in August and September.
