How to get the Photo Finish Shader in Destiny 2

A new shader that applies an RGB effect to certain pieces of armour, weapons, and other cosmetics has been added to Destiny 2.

Season of the Risen has entered its final week in Destiny 2. While it may seem an eternity ago thanks to the amount of content it brought, including The Witch Queen expansion, Void 3.0, a new location, raid, and more, it's hard to believe it's only been four months.

As veteran players are hard at work trying to grind the last Grandmaster Nightfalls of the seasons, more casual players are enjoying the Guardian Games festivities, which are closing out Season of the Risen before season 17 starts on the next weekly reset.

Like every other weekly reset, which occurs Tuesdays at 10:00 am PDT (7:00 pm GMT), the in-game store has been refreshed with new ornaments, emotes, and other types of cosmetics players can earn by using Silver or Bright Dust.

Silver is a premium currency that can only be acquired by purchasing with real-life money, meanwhile, Bright Dust is available by completing seasonal challenges, weekly bounties, and progressing through the season pass.

With the latest 17th May weekly reset, players discovered a seemingly innocuous shader, which upon further inspection, gave certain cosmetics an incredible RGB effect.

You can get the Photo Finish shader by heading to the Destiny 2 in-game store at the bottom of the Featured section. It has a cost of 300 Bright Dust.

Now, it's worth reminding you that the RGB effect won't apply to all cosmetics available. It's hard to pinpoint which ones will don the flashy enhancement. For example, the Warlock Celestial Robes won't change.

Users online quickly found out that the RGB effect is applied to all pieces of the Guardian Games armour, which costs 1500 Silver in the in-game store. Other known pieces of cosmetics or ships that work are the Unixursal Voyager ship, Vault of Glass raid weapons, Steeplechase Hood helmet, and more.

It seems that it might only apply the effect to pieces of gear or certain items that have a distinct glow to them. The Solstice gear, for some reason, doesn't fall under this category.

Our recommendation is that, if you have the extra Bright Dust to spare, buy the shader and keep it in your back pocket. You never know what kind of armor Bungie might come up with next.
