Niantic has announced new five-star Raids, which will coincide with various events taking place for the month. There may be an opportunity that Trainers may encounter their Shiny forms if Niantic has specified which can be encountered through these Raids unless specified by the developer.

This season, the developer has planned the month's five-star Raids differently, as three Pokémon will appear concurrently; however, they are region-locked. Let’s look at all the featured Pokémon you can encounter in five-star Raids for August 2023 in Pokémon GO:

In addition to the five-star Raids for the month, several Pokémon are arriving to Pokémon GO in Mega Raids. These raid encounters are much different from the five-star Raids as they will pit you and your Pokémon line-up against a Mega-evolved Pokémon, and defeating it rewards you with Mega Energy.

This Mega Energy can be specific for a Pokémon or its evolution line as it can temporarily grant them Mega Evolution status. After successfully Mega evolving a Pokémon the first time, it can be Mega evolved without Mega Energy.
