Genshin Impact 4.0 Update Release Date and Time
While HoYoverse is yet to officially announce the release date of the Genshin Impact 4.0 update, it is expected to launch on August 16 at 11:00 (UTC+8). The in-game servers will be taken down for maintenance for a few hours before the update gets released, and during that period, players will not be able to play the game.
To compensate for the downtime, HoYoverse will give players free Primogems as a compensation reward that they can collect via the in-game mail.
Genshin Impact 4.0 Update Content
HoYoverse has already officially announced that Genshin Impact 4.0 update will be bringing the much-awaited region called Fontaine, the Nation of Justice. A trailer of Fontaine was showcased during the 3.8 special program livestream, and it gave us a glimpse of underwater world of Fontaine, new creatures, and more.
Apart from this, three new playable characters will be making a debut named Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet. HoYoverse has officially announced all three of them.
Lyney will be the 5-star character and he is a celebrated magician of the Court of Fontaine. He is a Pyro character, and he will be a 5-star bow user in the game.

Lynette will be joining Lyney as a Multi-Function Magic Assistant to him. She is an Anemo character, and she is a sword user who will be a 4-star character.

Freminet will be is a Renowned Diver of the Court of Fontaine and is Lyney's younger brother. He will be a 5-star Cryo Claymore user.

In addition to this, new artifact sets Golden Troupe and Marechaussee Hunter will also be available for you to farm from new domains.

The update will also bring a new 5-star weapon called The First Great Magic which is a bow and Lyney's signature weapon.
You will also be able to collect Hydroculus to level up the Statue of the Seven in Fontaine and earn rewards.

Anton Roger, a new transportation device, will help players travel by marking the route and then activating it.
