Apex Legends Season 18 Player Count: August 2023

Apex Legends is currently sitting in Season 18. Having launched back in 2019, the online Battle Royale has continued to grow and evolve over the years. We've seen its pool of Legends expand from a small offering to 24 playable characters, each with their own unique abilities and playstyles.

In a break from tradition, Respawn decided that, for the first time, in Season 16 they would not be introducing a new Legend. Instead, developers focused on extensive reworks for the existing Legends, implementing an overhaul to the game's class system. All Legends now fit into one of five classes:

  • Assault
  • Controller
  • Recon
  • Skirmisher
  • Support

These reworks did wonders for the game's success, with Apex Legends experiencing its all-time player count peak on Steam in Season 16. According to Steam Charts, the game reached a concurrent peak of 624,473 players.

So now that we're in Season 18, is that success still carrying on? Here, we'll go over just how many players are diving into Apex Legends this season, in August.

Update 10 August: This article has been updated to reflect the amount of players Apex Legends has received throughout the last 30 days.

Thanks to stat-tracking website Steam Charts, the player count for Apex Legends can be viewed for PC. According to the site, Apex Legends has averaged around 170,251 players in the last 30 days. While that's less than half of the all-time peak, it's still a healthy number.

But in the last 30 days, Apex did reach a peak of 451,223 players. The numbers only go to show that Apex Legends is still incredibly popular, even heading into Season 18. It's important to note that these numbers only reflect those playing on PC via Steam. The real number, which would take into account those playing on consoles, is likely much higher. Unfortunately, console player counts just aren't available.

Interestingly, Apex's peak player count came with the launch of Season 18 on August 8. While the number is high, it's a little bit less compared to the player count peak with the launch of Season 17, which hit roughly 584,000 players.

If you're looking to start your Apex journey, or are thinking about jumping back into the game, there's never been a better time. With healthy player numbers, you'll never be short of match or two. Here's hopeing that the game only grows stronger in upcoming seasons.
