Escape from Tarkov wipes are global resets that will kick players back to level 1 and remove all the gear they have collected. This might sound like a scary prospect to newcomers who have just spent the last six months grinding, but this is entirely normal and happens several times a year. The main question then becomes: "when is the next Escape from Tarkov wipe?" This article will cover the latest news relating to the next wipe, as well as some speculative potential 2023 dates plus what you can expect to happen during the next reset.

"When it comes to figuring out BSGs plans for Escape from Tarkov around Tarkov wipes there is no secret formula especially not these days but BSG has completely shattered what little we knew about prewipe and now it's leaving us in limbo. I can honestly say that no matter what happens the wipe can be in 2 weeks or two months there's no way of knowing until BSG tells or shows us more"

Tomorrow, July 6, at 8AM BST/3AM EDT Battlestate Games is planning to install technical update 0.13.1.0.
Intriguingly though, the official patch notes mention that there will not be a wipe with this update.
Something tells us we're going to have to wait a long time for that next wipe.
"In the near future, we plan to publish an updated release roadmap for this year, which will include a game engine update, content patches, and more" Battlestate Games told fans.
Hopefully, the new roadmap gives fans an idea of how long they have to wait before the next wipe drops.
Stay tuned for more details.
Today Battlestate Games confirmed in this tweet that the Escape From Tarkov Early Test Server includes patch 13.1 available for testing. This is the next planned update for the game. So hopefully we're finally getting closer to that impending Wipe.

We have installed a technical client update. The game will not stop, however the raid time on servers undergoing the updates may be reduced to 10 minutes. Please download the update via the launcher. #EscapefromTarkovpic.twitter.com/4KROZA0NXL

An interesting twist on the normal news because we now know when the Wipe is NOT happening.
As pointed out by NoiceGuy Tarkov, there's a PVP tournament being hosted by "The Hunt" and it's going to happen on the 1st of July for NA, then 15th of July for EU.
We would imagine that Battlestate aren't going to mess with this tournament, so the wipe most likely wont happen until some time after July 15th.
We're back to bring you our newest and biggest Tournament. AMPED.

Earlier today Battlestate Games released a new update for Escape From Tarkov, but as you may know, there was no wipe.
Escape from Tarkov 0.13.0.5 update is more concerned with changes to sound in the game. It's probably worth taking a look at the Patch Notes.
This latest update is the first of several patches planned in 2023, as outlined on the official roadmap. Somewhere along we should also get a server wipe too. It won't be long now.
So, over the weekend it seems like Tarkov had an unprompted event that looked an awful lot like a Tarkov Pre-Wipe event.
The TLDR: Certain maps were free to enter, which rotated depending on the number of kills. Bosses were also spawning 100%. Scavs were also free.
However, the event suddenly ended as soon as the Labs Map counter hit 100k/100k.
So yeh, this doesn't look like a pre-wipe event, but maybe Battlestate Games could be gearing up for more regular weekend events in the future. We'll have to wait and see.
For a deeper overview of what happened, check out the video below from NoiceGuy.
But no word on when this next wipe might arrive.
"I have a theory right now that we are about to head into the worst yet best 6-8 months in the history of Escape from Tarkov."
Yeh, you might want to watch this latest YouTube video from NoiceGuy.
Here's something interesting that we didn't think about when we first saw the Escape From Tarkov Roadmap last week.
YouTuber NoiceGuy Tarkov has suggested that we might see two wipes in quick succession as the game rolls out the 13.01 Technical update and the 14.0 Content Update.
For the full reasoning (which, does make sense) follow the link above to the video at around the 6-minute mark where NoiceGuy explains why it makes sense for us to have two quick wipes across these two updates. Of course, this is assuming the 14.0 Content Update isn't the update coming in December, in which case, it could be a dry few months of content for the game.
For the first time ever Battlestate Games have put out an actual roadmap for Escape from Tarkov.
The developers call this a preliminary roadmap so it's likely to change, but this is a good look at what we can expect to see over the coming months, especially as we approach that next EFT Wipe.
Follow the link above for all the key details.
Battlestate Games has just shared a few new screenshots showing the expansion of the next Streets map in Escape from Tarkov, which you can see below.
Will we see this new content added to the game following the next big EFT wipe?
We checked but couldn't find any new details on the next Escape from Tarkov wipe, which is still a long way off. Stay tuned as we continue our search.
We expect the next Escape from Tarkov server wipe to take place in either June or July this year.
With the Streets of Tarkov update out now, and the last server wipe happening on 28th December 2022, we've updated this article with the next expected Escape from Tarkov server wipe, the first in 2023.
Escape From Tarkov Wipe Dates
There is never a specific timeframe used by Battlestate games when it comes to when the next Tarkov wipe will occur. Roughly, wipes occur every 5-6 months.
We can estimate when the next 2023 Escape from Tarkov wipe will be based on previous wipes. The following is the list of wipe dates since 2017:
- 26 December 2017
- 19 April 2018
- 19 July 2018
- 8 November 2018
- 9 April 2019
- 27 October 2019
- 28 May 2020
- 24 December 2020
- 30 June 2021
- 12 December 2021
- 29 June 2022
- 28 December 2022
As you can see, aside from a few anomalies early in the game's lifespan, wipes tend to happen at an average of 150-200 days. Considering the last wipe in Escape from Tarkov occurred in late December 2022, we can likely expect to see another wipe sometime in June or July 2023. We will update this section as soon as new information is revealed.
What To Expect During An Escape From Tarkov Wipe
Wipes usually come along with major game updates. As such, every player's progress will reset to zero. This includes quest progress, weapons, equipment, and more. Players will, however, usually be given their account starting items after the wipe is complete.
Escape from Tarkov wipes happens for several reasons. Most importantly, it allows the developers to avoid glitches or unnecessary coding mishaps that may occur during these massive gameplay overhauls.
Additionally, it is an excellent opportunity for newcomers to jump into the game without the threat of veteran players having already acquired the best weapons and equipment.
And that's all we have to say about the next Escape from Tarkov wipe.
