Dead By Daylight Chapter 29: Alien - Killer, Power, And Perks
The Dead by Daylight Chapter 29: Alien killer is the Alien from the Alien franchise, also known as the Xenomorph. The Xenomorph has its own power, Hidden Pursuit, and three unique perks. Check them out below:
DBD Alien Killer Power
A series of tunnels become available on the map when the Xenomorph is in play. By accessing a Control Station, it can enter these tunnels to quickly move around the map, detect the presence of nearby Survivors, and speed up the cooldown time of its Runner Mode ability. Exiting a Control Station tags nearby Survivors with Killer Instinct.
Special Ability: Runner Mode
The Xenomorph enters Runner Mode automatically when not on cooldown. In Runner Mode, the Xenomorph walks on four legs and becomes stealthier, reducing its Terror Radius. While in Runner Mode the Xenomorph also has access to a brutal Tail Attack.
Map Feature: Control Stations
Seven Control Stations are scattered across the map. Survivors can interact with these stations to get a Remote Flame Turret, while the Xenomorph can enter and exit the tunnels underneath the Control Stations.
Special Item: Remote Flame Turret
Turrets can be placed in the map to counteract the Xenomorph. When the Xenomorph enters the radius and line of sight of a Turret, the Turret attacks; this attack staggers the Xenomorph and will cause Runner Mode to end. If a Turret successfully knocks the Xenomorph out of Runner Mode or fires for too long, it overheats, and must be repaired by a Survivor. The Xenomorph can attack Turrets to destroy them.
DBD Xenomorph Killer Perks
- Ultimate Weapon
- When you open a locker, this perk activates for 30 seconds. Survivors entering your Terror Radius scream and reveal their position and gain Blindness for 30 seconds. This perk then goes on cooldown for 40/35/30 seconds.
- Rapid Brutality
- You can no longer gain Bloodlust. Hitting a Survivor with a basic attack gives you 5% haste for 8/9/10 seconds.
- Alien Instinct
- This perk activates when you hook a Survivor. You see the aura of the farthest injured Survivor for 5 seconds and that Survivor is oblivious for 16/18/20 seconds.
DBD Xenomorph Alien Killer Mori
The Xenomorph also comes with its own terrifying Mori animation, which you can check out below:
Just as Wesker (The Mastermind) has special Mori animations for Chris Redfield, his nemesis, The Xenomorph gets a special Mori animation for Ellen Ripley, the chapter's new survivor. It's great to see Dead By Daylight's devs honoring the sources of licensed chapters, and delving into their lore and character interactions.
DBD Chapter 29: Alien - Ellen Ripley Survivor And Perks
Ellen Ripley is joining Dead By Daylight's Fog in Chapter 29 as the game's newest licensed survivor. She'll join the Fog with three of her own perks, listed below:
DBD Ellen Ripley Perks
- Lucky Star
- When you hide in a locker, this perk activates. You leave no pools of blood and make no grunts of pain for 10 seconds. When you exit the locker, you see other survivors and the closest generator’s aura in yellow for 10 seconds. This perk then goes on cooldown for 40/35/30 seconds.
- Chemical Trap
- After completing 70%/60%/50% progress on any generator, this perk activates. While standing next to a dropped pallet, press the Active Ability Button 2 to install a Trap, which stays active for 100/110/120 seconds. The aura of trapped pallets are revealed in yellow to all Survivors. When the Killer performs the break action on the trapped pallet, the trap explodes, and they are slowed by 50% for 4 seconds.
- Light Footed
- When you are healthy, this perk activates. Your running footsteps are silent. This perk goes on cool-down for 28/24/20 seconds after doing a rushed action.
Dead By Daylight Chapter 29: Alien - Nostromo Wreckage Map
Dead By Daylight's Alien chapter contains a new map, the Nostromo Wreckage map. Players can explore the Nostromo shipwreck, including a secret room, encountering the terrifying Alien killer or perhaps one of the many other killers in Dead By Daylight.
Dead By Daylight Chapter 29: Alien - Release Date
Dead by Daylight Chapter 29 is set to release in August 2023 according to the Dead by Daylight Year 8 Roadmap. This follows the release of Nicolas Cage as a standalone survivor in July 2023.

Chapter 29 Predictions
With the next Dead by Daylight chapter being a licensed one, there are a lot of possibilities for what it could be. One of those possibilities is that it could be a Five Nights at Freddy's chapter, featuring characters like Springtrap or Freddy Fazbear. This seems especially plausible since Dead by Daylight's upcoming movie will be produced by Blumhouse, the studio behind the Five Nights At Freddy's movie. Therefore, Behaviour Interactive and Blumhouse could definitely be in talks about a crossover between these two franchises. Perhaps we could even get a map of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, complete with a stage.
It's also possible that the next Dead by Daylight chapter could be an Until Dawn chapter. Supermassive Games, the studio behind Until Dawn, is developing a Dead by Daylight spinoff game; with that in mind, it's very possible that Behaviour Interactive and Supermassive Games could also be in talks about adding some Until Dawn content to the 4v1 asymmetrical title. There is a range of playable characters in Until Dawn, giving developers plenty to work with; the killer, of course, would be The Wendigo, one of the terrifying Wendigos from the game that terrorize the player.
For now, that's all we know about Dead by Daylight Chapter 29 based on what we've heard from Behaviour Interactive and from data miners' leaks. As more information is revealed and as the chapter's release date nears, we'll update this article accordingly.
