Marvel Snap cards are divided into different levels known as "Series", or sometimes "pools". This is to help enable newer players to get off to a good start as they learn the ropes without having to worry about facing a better player with every card in the game. Pool 2 cards are obtainable by simply playing the game, and Series 3 cards have a good chance to drop from Collector's Caches. However, Series 4 and Series 5 cards are ten and one-hundred times rarer to obtain and cost a ridiculous amount of Collector's Tokens to buy.
To alleviate this, Second Dinner has introduced the Series Drop feature to help players get older cards at a much better rate. This article will cover what the Series Drop feature is, how often it occurs, and what cards are changing!

How Does The Series Drop Work In Marvel Snap
As mentioned, the Series Drop feature will move certain Series 5 cards to Series 4 and Series 4 cards to Series 3. As new cards are added to Series 5 every month, this allows players to acquire older cards at a much better rate. Here are a few quotes from Marvel Snap to explain the process:
"It’s been a couple months since we introduced Series 4 and Series 5 cards, and we’re excited about our first-ever Series Drop! With every Series Drop, some Series 5 cards will move to Series 4, and some Series 4 cards will move to Series 3. When cards drop Series, they become 10x more common in Collector’s Reserves, and much cheaper in the Token Shop."
When Is The Next Series Drop In Marvel Snap?
"We look forward to doing a Series Drop every month! Series Drops currently require a patch, so the exact date and time may vary."
As explained by the developers at Second Dinner, Series Drops in Marvel Snap usually happen once a month and are released alongside the latest Marvel Snap Patch. This shouldn't be confused with the weekly Marvel Snap Balance update.
The most recent Series Drop took place in Marvel Snap on July 12th with Second Dinner choosing not to make any changes during the August 2023 update.
We predict the next Series Drop will arrive on or around September 5 alongside the next update to the game. We've added a countdown timer below for when we expect the next Series Drop to arrive.

Marvel Snap Series Drop Schedule
UPDATE: After the recent card acquisition changes, there is no longer a set schedule for Series Drops. Essentially some cards, may remain in pools, rather than dropping down automatically. Likewise, some cards may start in a lower series, rather than jumping straight into Series 5. However, the developers may still follow a rough schedule, so have a look at the below timeline.
As we've explained, cards will periodically drop from Series 5 to Series 4 and Series 4 to Series 3 over time, normally following the release of the monthly update.
The question most fans ask is 'when will x card drop down', and thankfully, there's an easy enough way to predict it based on when a card if first released and working forwards. Although, as we say these are just predictions so don't be surprised if something changes in the future.
For now though, if you're at all curious about any of the current Series 5 or Series 4 cards and when they'll (likely) drop-down, take a look at the schedule just below.
